Trade-Up: Get Credit for Your Old Wearable

WHOOP's trade-up program takes a wearable you no longer want — it names Oura Ring, Apple Watch, Fitbit, Garmin and Samsung Galaxy Watch — and applies an instant discount to your membership at checkout. The join page advertises up to $119 off. You pick your device, model and condition, and the credit shows up in your cart right away. It's US-only for now.

After checkout you get a prepaid shipping label by email, and you have 30 days to send in the old wearable and its charger. That's the part to take seriously: WHOOP says that if the device and charger don't arrive in time, or don't match the condition you selected, your membership may be suspended or you may be charged the discount. Be honest about the condition, and ship it the week you check out.

Worth knowing: "up to $119" is a ceiling. What you get depends on the device, model and condition, and WHOOP has a calculator on the join page. Check your number before deciding.

Life + Labs: Bloodwork in the Membership

WHOOP's lineup is now four tiers. Prices below are per year, as listed on WHOOP's join page:

The two tests analyze 122+ biomarkers in total, come with a clinician-reviewed action plan, and are combined with your wearable data. The extra $349 over Life is roughly what two Comprehensive Health Panels cost on their own at $199 each (the price I covered in the Apple Watch piece), so the bundle saves about $49. That's a modest saving, not a big one.

Life + Labs makes sense if you already planned to get bloodwork done twice in the next year, say a baseline and a follow-up after changing your training or diet. If you only want one test, buy the panel on its own and stay on Peak or Life.
